About Me
Hi, my name is Stephanie. I started teaching in 2006 after being inspired by watching my mother in her first-grade classroom. As a struggling reader myself in school, I developed a passion for helping young students gain confidence and acquire the tools to learn how to read. After one of my children was diagnosed with dyslexia, I began searching for the help she needed. I found a high demand for certified dyslexia tutors but a lack of them. Therefore, I went back to school, became certified in Orton-Gillingham, and became a certified structured literacy dyslexia interventionist. Additionally, I received training in Orton-Gillingham math. I believe it is crucial for children to be provided with a multisensory approach to learning, no matter what subject they are studying.
In addition to tutoring, I also provide consulting for teachers. My goal is to support educators in implementing effective, multisensory instructional strategies in their classrooms. By sharing my expertise in dyslexia intervention and multisensory learning, I aim to help teachers create inclusive and supportive learning environments where all students can thrive.
My mission is to empower students with dyslexia and other reading difficulties through evidence-based, structured literacy interventions. By providing personalized, multisensory instruction rooted in the Orton-Gillingham approach, I aim to build confidence, enhance literacy skills, and foster a lifelong love of learning.
A creative education has the power to catapult children into a lifetime of curiosity.
