Math Games for Math Fact Fluency

Math fluency is a crucial stepping stone for success in math. Ensuring students are fluent in their math facts—meaning they can recall a fact within five seconds—before second grade is essential for them to grasp the more complex concepts taught from second grade onwards. Some students are very good at using and enjoy math flashcards, spending hours on them. However, most students cannot learn effectively this way.

Sparking their interest by playing games to increase their math fluency is an effective way to get practice in without them even realizing it. Below, I have included a few videos and links to games that you can play with your child to help improve their math fact fluency.
